Ferrous metals are defined as scrap that contains iron such as junk autos, trucks, appliances, obsolete machinery, farm machinery, building tin, shelving and any kind of scrap iron and steel.
Non-ferrous scrap does not contain iron and is not magnetic. This type of scrap, for example, comes from aluminum boring or turnings from machinery, cans, radiators, car and truck rims, window screens, transmissions, wire or batteries.

We are a state certified salvage dealer, and our scales are certified and checked/calibrated twice a year!
#1 copper
The copper must be at least 1/16th of an inch in diameter. It should also be clean in appearance, unalloyed and uncoated, free of fittings, insulation, paint, solder and any other material.
#2 copper
Must be completely clean of all metal clippings and coatings. Can be less that 1/16th of an inch in diameter and has a "dirtier" appearance than #1.
Coated Copper Wire
There are different grades of coated (Also known as insulated) copper wire. These grades and prices are based off copper recovery percentage.
